Upright Freezers...

Storage without liquid nitrogen relies on bulk capacity compressor driven freezers. These can be either upright or chest type and are available in a range of sizes and holding temperatures.

Temperature variants are normally -40C, -80C and -140C. Size variants can be 175 litre, 340 litre, 515 litre and 690 litre. All of these should be fitted, where available, with battery back up and Liquid Nitrogen or CO2 safety systems to maintain sample integrity in the event of power loss.

Systems can be fitted with acoustic insulation and specially adapted to low temperature refrigeration which can give noise levels of less than 55dB.
